My wife and her mother were on the mortgage. They have both passed away. I was not on the mortgage, but the deed is in my name. The bank won't put my name on the mortgage, although I am the one who has been paying the mortgage for several years. I am retired and they say I do not qualify. Can i get a non-occupant co-borrower and apply for a mortgage or refinance? What do you suggest?

Hi Guest! Welcome to forums! Unless you have the required credit score and income, lenders won't let you assume or refinance the loan. You can get a non-occupant co-signer and apply for a mortgage refinance in order to get it transferred in your name. However, the co-signer should meet the required criteria of the lender in full. Feel free to ask if you've further queries. Sussane
