can i take out a second mortgage on my house if i have had a loan modification
I need to take out a second mortgage on my home. we had a loan modification done about 5 or 6 years ago. they also did a principal reduction. its a two family that needs some updates done. my wife works two jobs her credit is around 660 my credit is around 780 but I am on ssi income and I get rental income as well. what can I do

You can take out a second mortgage, provided you've made at least 24 monthly payments since your date of loan modification. In case, you're refinancing a different home that is independent of the property with the modified loan, then you'll have to wait for at least a year.
