dallas county did not change my deed to be in just my name - i have a divorce decree stating i am sole owner. it was supposed to have been done when i refinanced the house. how do i go about getting my now deceased ex-husband's name off the deed? thanks!

Filing an affidavit of heirship at the county recorder's office can be a good option. Nevertheless, as he was your ex-husband, it will be better if you could contact a real estate attorney and take his opinion in this matter.

Now that your ex-husband is deceased, his present heirs will also have a claim on that property. It will be difficult for you to get the property transferred in your name.
