my ex boy friend brought a hom

my ex boy friend brought a home, we broke up and the mortage is in my name only, the deed is in both of our names, he refused to sell the home and moved his current girl friend in, I moved out and left the state, he said the house is his and he pays the mortage, but refused to sell and give me my share of the money, what can I do, can he remove my name from the deed?

Hi Guest, Your ex-boyfriend cannot remove your name from the property deed. You will have to sign over the property to someone else in order to remove your name from the property. You can simply go and stay in the property as you have equal rights to it. Unless he pays you off, you shouldn't remove your name from the property deed. Thanks

Hey guest, I agree with jamshoqq. The house is yours just as much as it is his. Since you put money into the property, you have a share in the home. For example, if you paid 20% of what the home is worth, you own 20% of said property. I would also advise you not to remove your name off of the deed until he pays you off. Hope this was helpful !
