I unknowing bought a house by a landfill.

We bought our doublewide trailer 9 years ago right before the market fell apart. We did not know the place behind us was a private landfill until about a year ago when we started smelling things. Is there anything we can do? We are still able to comfortably pay our mortgage, but we are so underwater that we are stuck here in this "smell hole"
