Landlord wants her things in foreclosed property

The landlord can take his personal properties with him. I don't think you can do anything.

Hi Frankiel! Welcome to forums! It is true that the landlord will be able to remove his/her personal items from the property after it is foreclosed by the lender. If you wish to stay in the property, you will have to make arrangements for yourself and you shouldn't pay the rent to the landlord but you should pay it to the lender. The owner cannot remove anything that is affixed to the property. The fridge is not bolted down, but the fan is, and possibly the microwave...Anything that was "personal" property becomes "real" property once its affixed to the home. RE law 101 For example, your purchase a AC unit, the unit is personal property until you hook it up to the house, now its part of the house. A ceiling fan, same thing... In regards to your tenancy, the new owner should be adhering to your existing lease and should fulfill the remaining term of the lease. Good Luck.

Wow, what a loser landlord...  Not only screwing the bank, but also screwing you.  If the house was foreclosued on, he might be in his "right of redemption period", and therefore could take personal property.  If it is after the right of redemption, it is theft. The basic rule we tell people is if you tip the house upside down, anything that falls out is personal property. I'd move out ASAP.   Good luck!
