Hi friends,

In recent times, predatory lending has affected the mortgage industry by bringing in illegal lending practices. The inclusion of this forum is an attempt to create awareness among borrowers and common people about such practices.

Through this forum, you can share your experiences, good or bad, with mortgage companies. Your experiences will allow others to have a true picture so that they will learn to deal with lenders and companies in a better way.

You can also post your suggestions as to how one should deal with these companies to get the best services available.

Thanks

Sam
I'm not sure if this is the right place to warn people, if not Mod please move to the right area.

Here's the story; This company and specifically the loan processor has taken +30 days to process my buyers loan and give them a commitment letter. The loan processor has lied numerous times, on numerous occasions. Unethical behavior and terrible customer service.

Date set to close in 12 days and these Boobs still have no answer for my buyer, in a nutshell they SUCK, run don't walk from REMN Mortgage company.  :x :x :x

I have had the experience of working for 2 mortgage companies in the past 15 yrs, and I thought i knew a great deal about mortgages when i got there to begin with; but boy was i wrong, i have learns tons and tons about the pratices of mortgage companies and lenders that it's mind boggling. I personally saw the housing collapse before it happened in my mind with what was taking place back in the early 2000's.Having so much stored up experience has allowed me to make some wise choices when it comes to mortgages, mortgage servicing, getting great loans, getting what I want from mortgages companies and lots more, i feel like i could write atleast 3 books on the topic. I just don't know exactly where to begin because there are so many aspects of mortgage companies. I would advise any homeowner out there to always ask for what they want from their lender and more. Your mortgage company has the power to do almost anything on your mortgage loan, you have to ask, and keep asking no matter what you have heard. Another tips is that when you are buying a new home you need to ask for things and lots of them like mortgage buy downs which covers a broad area. If a builder or a borrower wants to close on selling you a home, the sky is the limit as far as what they can offer you. Always ask for the impossible, you might just get it.
