how do you know Nation Point doesn't write loans? are they out of business now?

I am also interested in knowing about the validity of the statement that Nation Point doesn't write loans anymore...what is the source of that information?
I currently hold 2 mortgage loans from them (1st with ARM) and I'm contemplating a loan modification before my ARM kicks in 2010. I would like to know where I'm standing...
Any feedback would be highly appreciated...

Roxxy, things could get tough for you if Nation Point is no longer in business. You should call them asap and enquire as to what they are up to.

It's always a better idea to ask family and friends for referrals to a solid loan officer/lender then to ask if a company is any good online.

OK folks.. here is the truth about Nation Point.. They are deceptive company. Theytry to show that they are officially Maryl linch or use to be National City but they are not. I took loan from them and they without telling me put 3 year clause in it with high interest rate and im stuck with them. There customer service is soo bad that you dont want to be stuck with them. If you play mortgage via online at there website. they charge extra money even for the playment.

DO NOT DO NOT deal with them. Try going to some bank directly

Sounds like it's time to do some shopping for a new mortgage loan.

I would NEVER deal with Nationpoint again. Right now our house is in foreclosure because they would not work with us when we started having trouble making our pmts AFTER they raised the pmt when they paid our real estate taxes AND insurance AFTER WE PAID THEM. (we do not have escrow on our acct) They informed us that they were paying our FUTURE taxes and insurance. BULL!! When we couldn't make the pmts, they told us to fill out hardship papers to be considered for help or even a short sale (because we wanted to sell the house) but those papers were never received after we faxed them 3 times over a 6 week period! We called numerous times and never could get any one to talk to us, was always told we had to have the hardship papers turned in first before anyone could talk to us. So the day we got the papers from their lawyers stating that the house was in foreclosure we called them and MYSTERIOUSLY the person we talked to said our acct was updated with the hardship info but they couldnt help us because it had already been sent to foreclosure! We have spent MONTHS jumping through their hoops for nothing! They said the only thing we can do now is pay our past due $$ in full to keep from losing the house. Yeah, well if we could have paid that to begin with we wouldn't be in foreclosure!

Nation Points Loan Officer told us we were fixed, disclosers then came across as a ARM- Officer said he changed it and I believed him- but never got new disclosers (shame on me)- got to table- we had to sign that we were only paying interest the 1st three years and then we adjust after the third year. We are due to adjust in December, and we still have not recieved notification of the adjusted rate as we were suppose to within the 45 days. We are now at October 21. The hardship department is not returning calls. I did get a verbal that my interest rate is going from 5.85 to 8.85- and my payment is going up $300/month. It looks fairly promising that they are going to be a part of the real estate business and the mortgage industry. LIARS- DO NOT TRUST THEM!

Hi Jenn!

I find a number of people complaining about such cases. In my opinion, it will be better if you can know the background of a lender properly. You should try to find out as much as possible about the lender and also read the testimonials written by others about them. This will help you to get a fair idea about the lender.

Thanks,

Jerry

Wow I thought I was the only one going though some Nationpoint B/S.
Nationpoint and I signed a 7.5% loan agreement. with them giving me two months of free time til my frist payment. when I recieved my loan number and payment notice Natonpoint some how split my loan most of the loan was for the 7.5% and another small portion of the loan at 10.5%. I call and asked why and how they could do this. I was told the loan officer that I delt with was no longer with the company and they would check into it well its now two years later and no one has said anything as to why..

save yourself shop around frist. be 100% sure. its your money after all

Thanks Mikey for sharing your experience with the community. So what about the loan? Did you pay it off or is it still due with them?

I originally applied for loan modification in July 2008. Currently, each time I fax information to them they state that some portion of the fax was not received. Thus, up until today, I am still being asked for some portion of the fax that has not been received. Also, I have been given a different fax number to fax the documents on each phone call, even when the call has been escalated to a 'SUPERVISOR'. No one really cares at Nationpoint, by the way which is not Nationpoint anymore because they went out of business. The loans are being serviced. Today, I am just as frustrated as in July 2008. Prior to beginning this process, I was told that because I was not behind in my payments, they could not help me. Now that I am behind in my payments, they are still not demonstrating a willingness to help me...but I have since received a 'Counseling Notification' letter.

I really do not understand....

I live in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Hi FairyTeller,

I can understand how bad you must be feeling about the whole issue. As you have received a "Counseling Notification", I think this is a positive step. You can contact Nationpoint once again and check with them what are the next steps that you need to take.
