Can creditors put a lien on personal property?
Hi Guest,
As far as I know, after the property is sold off, the mortgage lenders will get their dues. Then, those creditors who have placed liens on the property, will be able to claim their dues from the home owner.
Thanks

I sold my FL. land for $90,000.00. After several years the buyer just stopped making payments. I hired an atty and the buyer did not respond within 20 days forcing me to get a judgement against him. can I file a lein against the buyers business or his personal property? Is it a losing battle?
Hi mrscalabash!
Welcome to forums!
You can file a lien against any of his properties or business as you have a judgment against him. Once you have placed the lien, you can force him to sell off the property to repay your debts.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

can a dept collector put a lein on any thing you own if it has 2 or 3 names on it?
In 2010 I had to come out of work on disability. I did not have any income for apx 1 1/2 years since my LTD insurance company did not pay me. Because of that, I was unable to pay my cc bills. Now I have recieved paperwork for exempting property. Can they seize my assets, house, car, personal property, etc? I live in NC.
Hi!
Welcome to forums!
To sue,
If your name is on the property deed as one of the owners of the property, then the creditor/lender can place a lien on it. However, in order to do so, he will have to file a lawsuit and get a judgment against you.

I bought a car in 2005 for 12,000 I paid 18,000 in 4 years, my husband got sick I told the loan company I could not afford it to come and get it, they did. Now can they put a lien on my house and take my house?
Hi Lesia,
If they have sold off the car and recovered the debts in full, then they can't place a lien on your property. Moreover, you should note that in order to place a lien on the property, they will have to file a lawsuit and get a judgment against you.
Thanks

Can a debtor place a lien on a mobile home??
Hi MaryAnn!
Welcome to the forums!
A debtor is a person who owes the debt. A debtor will not place a lien on his or her mobile home. If the debtor fails to pay off the loan, then his/her creditor will be able to place a lien on the mobile home in order to recover the debt in full.
Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
