I can't even begin to describe how incompetant the representatives that work at ADF are. I honestly don't know if any of them have graduated from college. I have wasted so much money with them, been to court because of them, had accounts "not paid", even though they were supposed to be handling it for me. Worst decision I have ever made. STAY AWAY!!!

I needed help. I am the responsible party for incurring the debt and I wanted to do the right thing and pay my cards and bills the right way. Unfortunately the minimums due was more than I was bringing home. First, and foremost I had to keep a roof over my head with only the necessary utilities and food in the fridge, after that it was my vehicle. Everything that was left went to the card payments.

Things were tight and cried myself to sleep every night, I could take it anymore, so I looked for help and was lead to American Debt Foundation. This was one of the worse decisions I've made. Helpful in the beginning and deceitful through the end. No updates, lack of communication. What was I paying them for. I was sending in money every month for over a year and NOTHING got paid. I began receiving legal notices of garnishments at home and the calls NEVER stopped. T

Thank good my job cares about the employees, because through them I was able to seek legal help. At the end of it, I terminated the contract and had to file for bankruptcy, which is on record for the next 7 years (This was three years ago).

American Debt Foundation stole 4,000.00 from me and said my creditor have been paid when they haven't. I stuck with the program until I found out A.D.F. was cheating me out of my money and not sending money to my creditors. I am so pissed at them I can't even talk! I stil, owe these peoiple after my money has been stolen from American Debt Foundation.

Hi Mets,

I think it will be better if you can contact an attorney and discuss your issue with him. He will be the best person to tell you how you can deal with American Debt Foundation.

Thanks

everyone should be aware that paying someone else to take care of your personal debts is, at best, a foolish thing to do. at worst, as has been noted, you'll not only lose substantial sums of money, but you'll also find that these so-called credit counselors cause you to fall into further disrepute with your creditors.

i'm so sick of answering a phone only to hear some recording tell me that i can cut my bills in half simply by giving a company my money so they can work on my case. it is a crock, people, and these companies need to be put out to pasture!

I have an account with American Debt Foundation, I signed up with them about 2 years ago. I do a lot of internet research for my job and found all of these negative postings about ADF and I strongly disagree with the things that are being said. ADF has worked very hard on my account for they have settled with 7 of my creditors. Maybe it is possible that the other people that are posting these items are not understanding how their program works. I suggest that people do more research about ADF then just reading the postings on the internet. I too received a lot of calls from my creditors but ADF assisted me with this. They did inform me that my creditors could still call me but I had to help them with this. I kept a detailed call log of all the calls I received from my creditors and I sent ADF all collection notices I received from my creditors and ADF contacted them immediately to inform them that I was enrolled in their program. I have also referred 2 of my family members to their program and they too have had nothing but good things to say about them. If I could do it all over again, I wouldnt change a thing. Lindsey G

I had a lot of financial stress with owing about $50k in credit cards. I enrolled in American Debt Foundation in August of 2007 and ADF has helped me with all of my financial stress. Yes, I did receive summonses from creditors and had to appear in court. ADF could not give me legal advice as to how to handle this but they did explain the settlement process clearly so that I could understand why creditors do the things that they do. Maybe people should take into consideration what these creditors are doing! Why is the Debt Settlement industry getting such a bad report? Creditors are the ones to blame here. Maybe, just maybe, if credit card companies didnt send you the promise of financial independence and then change your interest rate from 7% to 31% when you miss one payment by ONE DAY, then sue you because you got sick and had unexpected medical bills that were more important in your life then making a minimum payment to them, we wouldnt be in the financial stress we all seem to be in these days.

I have been enrolled with American Debt Foundation for 3 years and they have already settled 9 of my 11 credit cards saving me $9,664.00. They have been very attentive and have done a superb job in handling my account. I am glad that I chose to work American Debt Foundation. Give them a call (866)411-3328.

i don't have any personal knowledge of this firm - ADF. however, there are and have been and forever will be firms that do not deliver on their promises. that's something that has to be publicized in order for people not to be victimized. unfortunately, it appears that ADF has had a number of unhappy clients.

frankly, every company in the world is going to have both happy and unhappy clients. some people are born happy and some are born unhappy and nothing will ever change some of them.

i'm not trying to attack a single firm all by itself, but at the same time i find it pretty fishy that two posts appear within a minute of each other, or that there are personal attacks against those on here who are posting opinions.

suffice to say, i'm still skeptical of the entire industry - and this particular company is probably no worse than many of the others, and perhaps quite a bit better than some.
