section 8 application status

Posted on: 12th Mar, 2009 12:19 am
I would really like to know the status of my section 8 application. I applied a few years ago. I have a prospect number. But I dont know where to go to check it.I went on hacla.org. But i dont see a link to check status. I also would like to just update my information because I now have a 1yr old.
Hi TASHA,

You may be able to break the lease agreement but you may be obligated to pay rents to the landlord. I would suggest you to contact the Public Housing Authority (PHA) of your area and discuss your situation with them. They might be able to help you and give their suggestions to you.

Hi anthony!

Welcome to forums!

You will have to contact the PHA and request them to update your address in your Section 8 application.

Venora, calling me out is rude when all I'm trying to do is direct people to the locale they're seeking. I don't know why I bother to try to help when there are so many unruly and miserable people out there who can't seem to accept someone's assistance. I trust that your situation isn't difficult as it is with many of those who post on this forum. I also trust that you'll reconsider just what is "rude" the next time you decide to scribble online.

Let me follow up that...I've been blessed in that I've never had to deal with Section 8 for myself. But when I see so many people who are at a loss to figure out what to do, it occurs to me that I might be able to help. It's readily apparent to me that someone asking on this forum isn't in the right place to get the right answers, so I make an effort to find out enough information to give them direction. I am unaware of the ability to file online, but I also believe that one must know the local office that takes care of Section 8.

CC, no I am not representing any company, but that's not necessarily relevant anyway. If anyone would take the time to give me a concrete example of just how it is that I've transgressed, perhaps I can change my wicked ways to conform to the "requirements" as they are viewed. I don't know what it is that I may have said that's being construed as rudeness, so without a little hint, I don't know what I may need to change.
