Posted on: 12th Mar, 2009 12:19 am
I would really like to know the status of my section 8 application. I applied a few years ago. I have a prospect number. But I dont know where to go to check it.I went on hacla.org. But i dont see a link to check status. I also would like to just update my information because I now have a 1yr old.
Hi Shaenea,

None of us in this community can help you in knowing the status of your section 8 application. You need to contact your local PHA in order to know the status of your application.

Hi Marsadie,

You should immediately contact the local PHA and get to know the status of your application.

Marsadie and Shaenae, you can research the contact information on your local housing agency by doing an internet search. I suggest you use something like the following in your search: "City/County name public housing authority" - this will likely bring you an address and a telephone number, allowing you to contact them.

For example, if you lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, you'd type into the search engine the following: "Milwaukee public housing authority" and receive information that will lead you directly to the Section 8 area. I just tried this myself, for example, and there's a whole page simply about Section 8. In this case, not good for residents of Milwaukee because their "wait list" is closed for the year.

Try that, though, and I'm hopeful you'll get some favorable results.

George, can you see that the people who are inquiring have no common sense & obviously can't see in what website they are on.

Question, are you like the guru of this website, do you work for mortgage fit & its your job to answer all of these inquiries; because if it's not just back offfff.

Jessie, this forum isn't the proper place for that question, honestly. What your most productive move would be is to contact the housing authority where you applied, either by phone, email or in person, and inquire of them. Because this forum doesn't deal directly with any Section 8 situations, none of us would know, simply by your having stated your name, where you are from or where you applied. That location is where you need to inquire. I hope this information is helpful.
