USMAC Law Group - Is it a loan modification scam?

Posted on: 09th Jan, 2009 04:37 pm
Have anyone heard of ( Elect Group,LLC in Coral Springs FL.)
Iam in default for about 3000.00 on my loan with 8.5 fixed rate.
They wont 1.995 up front .To begin paper work on a loan modification
said that they should beable get me 4.fixed rat. Do anyone thank that this might be a scam[/b]
ray, what direct contact have you had with your mortgage lender? have you laid it all on the people who are "handling" your modification request? it behooves you to contact the lender posthaste and try to resolve this now. making a payment won't work at this time - the lender will kick it back to you immediately, because their foreclosure action has already taken place.

your first step is to contact the lender or the lender's representative immediately.

ive been dealing with USMAC Law Group for months now and all they've done is take my money over 1300 and nothing yet. i could never get anyone on the phone, and they never call back after leaving tons of messages still no answer, but they do send me tons of paper work to fill out, and bills to pay them. So be very careful, i would never never do anything with them again.

Jill Scott, I love your music and I'd watch your tv show, but i don't have hbo.

contact the attorney general in the state where your dad lives to see if you can obtain redress for his losses.

Hi JillScott,

You will have to contact the BBB and file a complaint against them. Apart from that, you can also file a complaint against them with your State Attorney General as George has suggested.

yes, i will agree that the bbb is worthwhile too, but attorney general's office is first on the hit list for me. they will know before anyone else if someone is above board or not...and they can initiate legal action too.

:( This so called law group took over $2300 and did nothing. After five months of me dealing with them they have done nothing to help me save my home, in a matter of fact I am now losing my home because of USMAC who told me NOT to make my monthly payments. There out to get inocent people like us and making promises that they are not willing to do. I had to freeze my banking accounts just so this USMAC law group could no longer get a penny from me, because they were still trying to pull $879 out of my account a week ago. So if anyone out there is seeking for help, RUN away as far as possible from this so called law group!!

This company gives false information by saying that they are attorneys, this is false! They are using attorneys bar numbers without the REAL attorneys knowledge! Not only have I spoken to all the attorneys that USMac Law Firm claimed to have working for them, I have filed complaints with the better business bureau, state bar for attorneys, ca attorney general, and the federal trade commission. if you need help please contact HopeNow .com they can and will help you.

Hi jeffecfd!

Welcome to forums!

I would suggest you to contact the State Attorney General and the BBB and file a complaint against them. You can even contact a lawyer who will help you in negotiating with them and get your money back.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Do not give these people a second thought. They took us for 3600.00. Everytime I called I was told they are in process of talking to our lender. We would get notices from our lender about foreclosure and things of that nature and this law group would tell me it was a computer generated letter and not to worry about it. We have been "working" on this for a year and a half! We have now finally gotten a letter from an attorney via the lender about foreclosure and I either get a busy signal or nothing at all when I call USMAC. As for talking with the lender ourselves, been down that road. Get the run around and talk with representatives that have no idea what the hell they are talking about. Our lender is Chase Home Finance, so steer clear of these guys too.
