Geneva Roth Capital Inc. which is also known as Loan Point USA ("http://www.loanpointusa.com/" ) is a payday loan company that carries out its own collections. Based at Utah, the company is reported to be a loan shark by several consumers who have shared their experience with the company in our forums.

There have been several complaints so far from customers regarding illegal activities of Geneva Roth. Here's why debtors feel that Geneva Roth is a loan shark:
  • The company often over charges its customers and withdraws money from their accounts repeatedly even after the loan payment is over.
  • The company also keeps changing its contact information due to which customers make repeated calls but fail to get any response from Geneva Roth.
  • Geneva Roth somehow gets access to bank accounts not related to the loan and debits money from such accounts.
  • Even if consumers do not apply for Geneva Roth loans, the company somehow gets access to their accounts and forcefully deposit loan funds without even sending any paper agreement to the debtor.
If you are in problem while dealing with the company or if you need to make an enquiry on your payment, loan balance etc, talk to a customer representative at the Geneva Roth toll free number.

In case you don't get any response from the company, or if they continue with their illegal activities, file a complaint with the FTC, BBB or your State attorney General. And if you'd like to share your experience with Geneva Roth - good or bad, feel free to post it below.

Hi Brianne and ann benjamin,

Welcome to the forum.

Geneva Roth is a loan Shark company and try to stay away from them. If they do not shop taking out money from your account then you should file a complaint in the Attorney General's office in your state.

Best of luck,
Larry

It appears that GRC does not report to any credit agency. As does any other payday loan company. Contact your local branch manager at your bank, explain that any GRC (or any variation of the name) charges are fradulent withdrawals and the bank will file chargebacks, place the money back into your account and go after GRC for the money.

DO NOT LET GRC INTIMMIDATE YOU INTO GIVING ANY MORE MONEY THAN WHAT YOU PAID BACK! If you feel you paid more than the original payback agreement, again contact your bank and have the bank fight for the money back. If necessary close your account immediately and open a new one. Stipulate to your bank not to allow GRC from taking funds from the new account and your bank will place a block.

We all from this forum need to combine forces and go after GRC with a class action suit and hopefully we can get them shutdown.

I closed my checking account and opened a new account before GRC can do any real damage. GRC's collection service practices are unethical and should be illegal if it isn't already illegal. I was on the phone with a collection agent stating they will be dragging me into court and if I'm found guilty they said I can be imprisoned. I laughed hysterically, she told me it was serious matter and I wouldn't be laughing once I was locked up. I asked this person that GRC was going to spend $1000's of dollars in lawyers and court costs to go after a $200 loan. I said this would be a civil matter and not a criminal case. I promptly hung up on them.

Stand your ground fight for your money and don't let them intimidate you. If they threaten you in such a manner you do not have to tolerate it, hang up on them and refuse to take their calls.

Great post mikek. The way to go :)

We should teach them a lesson but nothing will happen until and unless the government takes any strong steps against them.

Hi Guest,

So they have take money from your account also? It's an non ending queue of complaints. Have to applied the payday loan from them?

Whether you can get the money back or not you can stop them to take out money from your checking account. You just need to inform it to your back.

 this company is a major fraud!!! I borrowed 400 from them last month and thought that the 120 that they were debiting from my account was going towards the loan, boy was I wrong just got off the phone with them and the 120 dollars is just a fee for not having to pay the 400! also they are still going to debit my account the 120 and if i choose to pay off the loan 400 for a total of 520.00 on the next payday! is this legal??

Welcome jnmteal,

Now when you know Geneva Roth is a "major fraud!" why have you taken loan from them? Actually we need to be more conscious and try to avoid these companies and also payday loan. Then I feel avoid such kind of frauds.

Well I didnt know at the time it was a fraud! and when you are desperate you do stupid things. but imagine how much money these people ar making from "fees" they have already made more than what I have borrowed.

But to protect my accout whitch they still have toe information too I will have to pay them and keep track of it later. I wishI af gone with another company. One that is part of the BBB. does anyone now what the laws are (if any) on how much these sharks can charge you? and what legal actions can they take if you dont pay them on time?
Posted on: 21st May, 2008 03:09 pm
I borrowed $100.00 dollars. They have taken out $30.00 dollars out of my account for the past. 2 1/2 months and something needs to be done about it. This is no worse than robbing or mugging a person on the street. I am taking this complaint to a much higher level of authority and persuing my claim for damages to my account and personal preference. I ask you to stop this act immediately and reimburse $120.00 dollars into my account effective immediately. I have seeken legal counsel as part of my actions. I will also proceed for damages if this issue is not resolved immediately. 05-27-08.
