USDA about my home loan

how can i contact the csc of usda about my home loan and when can i talk to a customer service person
Welcome elc,

As far as I know, an USDA loan can be refinanced. You need to contact your present lender and apply for the refinance. In order to get a refinance, you need to be current on your mortgage payments.

I would agree in part with what Adonis said, but you should realize that it isn't necessary for you to return to your current lender. You can choose any lender you'd like, and it often pays to shop around.

TT, if you are asking what needs to be done with an existing USDA loan in the event you move, then you'd have to pay that loan off if you're selling your home. If you are retaining the home, you'll need to continue to pay the mortgage, of course.

I am of the opinion that people's life circumstances change, and that the purchase of a home, while intended to be for a "lifetime," may only be for a short period of time due to other happenings. If you're concerned that they'll insist you pay your loan off if you move out of state, then I would argue that they can try, but will have difficulty forcing you to do so.

Of course, if you just bought the property and you're moving already, that's a whole other scenario. As Sussane noted, though, it would help us to help you if you give us a bit more information.

I closed on my home on the 5th November 2010, and recieved my payment amount. I noticed the number of dependants was listed as "0" so I called to inform my local Rural Development agency that I have two minor children(as listed on my application). The next day I get a call saying there was a mistake and my payments have shot up an extra $158 and I need to come in to sign the new papers. How can this happen? How can I close on my construction loan and convert my loan to a regular mortage with a set payment, add two dependanats and then be told there was a mistake and now my payments are going up by $158.

Hi Richard!

Welcome to forums!

If the mortgage is in default, then it will be difficult for you to refinance the mortgage.

Actually, Richard, the account being "behind" might just be quite different from "in default." The gravity of the delinquency is obviously going to be critical in this situation.

Unfortunately, you may have another situation that will prevent, or at least make quite difficult, your effort to refinance the existing mortgage. That your former girlfriend is a borrower along with you complicates the issue greatly. Is she, or would she, be willing to transfer her ownership interest to you as the sole owner?

If she would be willing to do that, and you can bring the account to a current status as rapidly as possible, then the lender might be a lot more enthused about providing a refinance to you.

It's a long shot at this juncture, but it's not out of the realm of possibility. Speak with her, speak with the lender and make as many payments as needed to bring the account current as quickly as you can. That will certainly increase the odds for you.
