You can always call them or email them and for sure they will have to entertain you as soon as possible as you try to get in touch with them.

Hi cyndi,

You can apply for a loan modification with your lender. This will help you get a repayment plan from the lender which will make it easier for you to pay off the loan. However, it will be the discretion of lender whether or not he will give you this option.

Thanks

Do you know the email address of the CSC in St. Louis, Missouri, or do they have one? I have been trying to find it, but nothing I have found has worked. Thanks.

Can you please help? My mother passed away I now owe the house and it was just in a disaster from flooding. I just got the insurance check and now I just want to pay off the loan. Can you please let me know how to pay it off?

Hi Kathie,

You should contact your lender and pay off the loan. The lender will let you know the procedure. You should also keep in mind that you may have to pay a pre-payment penalty if you pre-pay your loan.

Thanks

I have a USDA loan, since 2006. In 2008 I filed bankruptcy but my USDA along with my car lender was listed as secured. My question is, I was told I should have had to sign a reaffirmation agreement with USDA, but I didn't. What could happen with this? Is it possible I could walk away from this loan? If I were to go in foreclosure on this, can they still make me pay back this loan even if I don't have the house anymore?

Welcome Lin,

If the loan has been discharged in your bankruptcy filing and you haven't reaffirmed it, then you're not personally liable for paying the loan. Moreover, your regular payments on that loan won't have a positive impact on your credit score as the lender won't report it to the credit bureaus. If the property is foreclosed, the lender won't come after you for the deficient balance.

i was divorced and he got the house. it was quick deed to him. he did not refinance the loan. it was forclosed on. now the usda has turned me into the treasury department. they take my tax returns. they want to garnish my wages. i've provided all documentation to them regarding that i'm not liable. they don't care. i asked usda what would happen if i filed bankruptcy on this. i was told to go ahead they dont care they will come after me anyway. even as far as taking my social security when i'm older. what can i do?

Hi B@rbara,

Your social security income cannot be garnished. If you file bankruptcy and get a discharge from that debt, then you won't be held liable for it. Unless you do so, you will be held liable for the mortgage as your ex has not refinanced the loan and your name is mentioned on the mortgage as the borrower.

I have a usda load with my ex name still. the court decree gives me 2 years to get loan in my name or sell it. I do not qualify for a loan as I don't have enough income although I do have a job. can usda remove him from the loan if he requests it even if I don't qualify for a loan? I should say would they allow him to remove himself from loan if I cannot get refinanced or another loan?
