NACA programs - Are they really helpful?

Posted on: 06th May, 2007 07:38 am
Can anyone shed light on an organization named Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America? Are they legitimate & helpful or just a bunch of hype? See the link:

Hi Rckowal,

Welcome to the forums.

As much as I now, NACA programs are designed in a way to help the subprime mortgage victims who have gone through defaults and delinquencies. NACA is organizing seminars and conferences to help such victims. Under the NACA programs, one would be able to get property renovation assistance as well.

The Home and Neighborhood Development ("HAND") Department of NACA is in charge of the repair issues. It judges the repair issues and provides assistance throughout the renovation process. Membership Assistance Program (MAP) of NACA provides counseling for Members who are delinquent on their mortgage payments. They also help in establishing payment agreements with lenders and provide financial assistance so that the borrowers can avoid foreclosure.

Thanks,
Jerry.

they also have mortgage programs for first time buyers as well as who are looking to refinance. the important thing is that their naca homeownership program has no down payment or closing cost requirement. there are naca programs which help people with bad credit to get loans.

NACA began in 1988 in Boston as the Union Neighborhood Assistance Corporation (UNAC) and roughly five years down the line this home ownership program came into existence. NACA has made the homeownership dream a reality for a large number of people by counseling. NACA programs have helped borrowers with poor credit to purchase a home or refinance a predatory loan. The terms and conditions offered by NACA are far better compared to other lenders.

I need some details about the NACA homeownership program.
Posted on: 28th Jun, 2007 05:39 pm
Hi Eric,

NACA programs have some very good features such as:

1. No closing costs
2. No PMI
3. No down payment
4. No application fees
5. Need not have perfect credit

It has low rates which are 1% below market rates. The current rate for their mortgage is at 6% for the fixed 30 year mortgage. You can read more about it from here: https://www.naca.com/about_naca/purchaseOverview.jsp

Hi Rhuel,

You need to contact your lender and apply for a loan modification. A loan modification will be available to you only if you are delinquent on your mortgage payments. You can even check out with NACA. There are certain NACA programs which help in modifying the loans. Check out if NACA is planning to organize a loan modification event in your state.
