I would really like to know the status of my section 8 application. I applied a few years ago. I have a prospect number. But I dont know where to go to check it.I went on hacla.org. But i dont see a link to check status. I also would like to just update my information because I now have a 1yr old.
Hi angela,

You need to contact local Public Housing Authority of your state in order to know the status of your Section 8.

Thanks

Welcome Keisha,

I will suggest you to get in touch with the Public Housing Authority of your state and clarify the matter.

Keisha, I would have to assume that you don't know the precise circumstances of the people who applied after you did. Perhaps their need, based on what they requested, was equivalent with what was available from Section 8; while your request had to be reviewed for a longer period for some reason.

No matter the situation, Adonis is correct - you would need to address this with your local housing agency to find out why you've been put on hold, so to speak. They are not going to be willing or able to discuss someone else's application with you, but they'll presumably give you the best service that they're able to provide.

Welcome latysha,

You will have to contact the Public Housing Authority of your state in order to know the status of your section 8 application.

Latysha, I see you're in New York City. You ought to go to www.nyc.gov and when you see the "search" feature, type in "section 8." That ought to allow you to get some (if not all) of the information you're looking for. Their phone numbers are also listed on the website (cannot show them here)...call the office most local to you, or the office at which you applied, and see what you can find out.

We're not in the Section 8 business here, unfortunately; so you can't really count on a great deal of help from those of us who post on this site. Go straight to the City site and you'll find out far more information than you'll get on here.

Welcome NAYDA,

It is the Public Housing Authority of your area who will be able to let you know about the status of your section 8 filing. I don't think anyone here will be able to help you in this matter.
