I would really like to know the status of my section 8 application. I applied a few years ago. I have a prospect number. But I dont know where to go to check it.I went on hacla.org. But i dont see a link to check status. I also would like to just update my information because I now have a 1yr old.
George, I sat here, quite honestly, for over 20 minutes reading through these postings. WOW- agreed w/ Chadwick, you have remained very professional and have been beyond helpful!!!!!! With the amount of postings asking for Section 8 help I think by now, 2010- someone connected to this website would have been able to direct these folks in need, to a page that says the EXACT same thing you keep pointing out again and again so 1). They can get on with their business; and 2). YOU, George, will slow down the "carpal tunnel" soon coming your way from all your well-meaning replys. Well said earlier, that your efforts to reply to "other" Just As Meaningful questions from folks would well be better served!!! I don't know much about web design but, geezzee, give this man a break! [and ESPECIALLY for the 'misguided' people that believe your site can answer their Sec. 8 questions!] Good Luck, George, you are seemingly a caring person trying to help. Unfortunately, some people displace their anger - & it comes your way.
GOD, Bless us All!!!!!

Hi JENNIFER,
You need to get in touch with the local housing authority at which you applied for the section 8 assitance to know the current status of your application.

I applied in San Bernadino, in 2008 for Section 8, can you please tell me the status of my application?
To Margarite,
As Jenkin had noted in the last post, you need to contact the local housing authority to check the status of your section 8 application because only they have the access to this information.

i don't know how i missed that post from "Dianasky" but i have to say "thank you, thank you, thank you" for your kind words. i suppose carpal tunnel syndrome is a risk we all undertake when we decide to become pundits on a website, but it's a risk worth taking, in my view.
you're right, Diana, in thinking that i'm only trying to be of assistance. sometimes my help comes with a sharpened "tongue" and folk don't understand, and when their ire becomes apparent, i simply have to let it roll off my back like water on a duck.
just because some don't like truth or the way it's portrayed won't deter me from my rounds (sound like a letter carrier there).

you're so helpful with that answer for "this guy." what is really tragic is that we have so many people seeking section 8 assistance coming to this website with questions about their own specific cases. this website has nothing to do with section 8 other than there's a forum that discusses it and its foibles.
no, i don't have all the answers, but i do have one answer; and that's to try to caution people that they're barking up the wrong tree when they seek answers in a generic forum such as this.
as for "everyone knows" - not everyone in this country has section 8 experience and is able to comfort and stroke all the individuals seeking assistance. since applying is done through the local housing agencies, they are clearly the source for additional information, regardless of how slow or slovenly they might be in response.
guest, if you have an answer for this guy, then why don't you have an answer that is fitting for all these poor souls seeking guidance on this site? they're the ones with questions and they're the ones seeking answers. your post was a waste of time to create and for anyone to read.
